Polly Ann ride Sunday April 29, 10:00 am.

Looks like another great weekend for the Polly Ann ride.  Join us at Evergreens Coffee Shop in Oxford at 10:00 am.  We had a great turn out last Sunday 25 riders!  Some folks will ride to Leonard and back.  Last week nine of us rode out to Dryden.  We took dirt roads up from the County Line.  Ended up with 30 miles and the dirt roads were in great shape.  Extra bonus no traffic................

Hope to see you,

Tuesday's at the Track

Information for the Tuesday night regulars is starting April 24th we will allow non-FRCC members join us at the Waterford track.  The purpose is to increase the participants so we can resume the structured training drills and hopefully entice new members to join the club.

Hope to see you all next Tuesday - it will be warmer, so ignore the forecasted drizzle!

NEW***Saturday Morning Bikepacking ride***

Starting Saturday, April 21, we will be starting a bikepacking ride that starts Saturday mornings at 9:00 am, departing from Independence Elementary school on M15 just north of I75.

Think of bikepacking as a cross between backcountry hiking, mountain biking and camping with the emphasis on adventure and FUN.

This ride is to get acquainted with packing and riding a loaded bike on backroads with the eventual goal of doing periodic overnight trips during the summer (if summer ever comes!). If you are new to this and want a low stress way to try Bikepacking, this is the ride for you.

The best bike to use is the one you already have. If you currently ride a mountain bike that works for you on the trail, chances are it will make a very capable bikepacking rig with few modifications

This is a no drop, casual pace ride that emphasizes learning, adventure and most importantly fun with a group of like-minded riders.

Hope to see you there!

Finally it is looking like a great weekend for a ride!  If all remains equal partly sunny and a high of 57!  Looking forward to a spring like ride with no lobster claws..........Hope to see you at Evergreens Coffee Shop in Oxford.

Wednesday night gravel ride cancelled

Hopefully winters return will be short-lived. Forecast for tonight at ride time is low 40's dropping to mid-30's and rain / snow. I won't be leading the ride tonight. Fortunately it looks like a very nice weekend. Hope to see you next week.

Spring Training Series Race #3 Canceled

The race today has been canceled due to the weather and standing water on the the track.

Polly Ann ride Sunday April 15, 10:00 am.

Right now it looks like the weekend is going to be a wash out.  However it is Michigan and things change quickly.  Look for a posting on Saturday with a update.  Hoping to get a ride in at the Polly Ann or if conditions are to wet back at Indian Springs.  Think dry warm thoughts...................

Polly Ann ride Sunday April 8, 10:00 am.

Meeting at Evergreens Coffee Shop in Oxford.  Heading out on the Polly Ann meeting back at the coffee shop after to warm up.  I'm really looking forward to warmer weather you know like spring like conditions.  It will feel good to put my lobster claw gloves away!  Looks like it will be yet another winters day ride high of 37.  Hope to see you and dress warm..............

Wednesday gravel road ride - cancelled

Hmmmm, let's see - wind-driven snow, reduced visability, falling temperatures. Not my idea of a nice day for a ride. There may be some of you hard-core riders who would brave such conditions and for those in this category, GO FOR IT!

Hoping for better weather next week. From experience, this time of year is very hit-and-miss. Take every opportunity you can to fit in a ride, or if you're really a glutton for punishment, get on your indoor trainer. As soon as the temps are above 45 and the roads are fairly dry, we'll give it a go. Until then... ride safe, and THINK SPRING!
